Your opportunity:

The role is for a corporate and commercial lawyer to join the TPG legal department on a 12 month fixed term basis. The role focuses on supporting the TPG group’s Business, Enterprise and Government sales, product and marketing teams. However, the role may require you to undertake work within any team of TPG’s legal department from time to time.

Reporting to the Head of the Strategy, Finance and Carrier Legal team, you will be tasked with providing strategic advice and risk analysis and supporting legal negotiations.

You will take initiative and personal ownership in relation to all aspects of the legal support you provide.

You'll make impact by:

- Delivering timely, creative and commercially astute legal advice and support, that is cost-effective and aligned to TPG’s operational and strategic plans.
- Drafting contracts and supporting on negotiations for Enterprise and Government customer contracts, delivering optimum value for TPG.
- Providing legal support and advice to TPG’s Small Business, Enterprise and Government Product and Marketing teams including on new product releases, changes to products and services, promotions, marketing reviews, and customer communications.
- Advising on Australian telecommunications legislation and regulations matters, including consumer law matters.
- Anticipating business, legal and regulatory issues, and seeking to effect pragmatic customer focussed solutions to achieve desired business outcomes.
- Building strong, effective and collaborative relationships and positively influencing key TPG stakeholders by acting in a manner aligned to TPG’s values.
- Leading initiatives to enhance legal knowledge management and process innovation within the TPG legal team.




- Supporting the Head of Team and General Counsel.

What you’ll bring:

- Legally qualified (holds a current practising certificate or equivalent).
- Minimum of 4 years PQE (or equivalent).
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills and ability to support negotiations on customer transactions and issues.
- Strong contract drafting and advisory skills, specifically on consumer marketing laws and knowledge of Australian telecommunications legislation and regulatory frameworks is desirable, however, support can be provided to develop expertise in this area.
- Ability to strategically apply legal and regulatory knowledge to protect and enhance the commercial interests of TPG.
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills.

Ideally, you will also have:

- Ability to deal with complex and high-risk issues in relation to commercial and consumer laws.
- Ability to build effective relationships and positively influence key TPG stakeholders by acting in a manner closely aligned to TPG’s values.
- Well-organised with excellent planning skills, particularly the ability to set clear priorities, monitor and achieve specified outcomes.
- Genuine team player with demonstrated relationship-building skills.
- Confident, proactive, positive and innovative.
