Role Summary
The Credit Support role is responsible for assisting the credit and lending team with credit administration, documentation, customer file maintenance, credit analysis support, and compliance with internal credit policies. The position helps ensure that credit applications, loan documentation, approvals, monitoring activities, and reporting are completed accurately, efficiently, and within required timeframes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support brokers and lending specialists with end-to-end loan application processing, from client file set-up through to submission, approval, settlement, and post-settlement follow-up.
- Review client information and loan documentation for completeness, accuracy, and consistency before submission to lenders.
- Collect, verify, and organise supporting documents such as identification, income evidence, bank statements, liabilities, credit reports, asset details, and compliance forms.
- Prepare and package applications in line with lender requirements, internal policies, responsible lending obligations, and broker channel procedures.
- Liaise with lenders, aggregators, brokers, clients, solicitors, valuers, and internal team members to track application progress and resolve outstanding conditions.
- Monitor application pipelines, lender service levels, approval conditions, settlement deadlines, and follow-up tasks to ensure timely outcomes.
- Assist with preliminary credit assessments, borrowing capacity checks, product comparisons, servicing calculators, and lender policy research under broker direction.
- Maintain accurate client records, notes, checklists, compliance evidence,
and document storage within CRM and loan processing systems.
- Prepare client communications, status updates, lender requests, approval letters, settlement updates, and post-settlement documentation as required.
- Identify potential file risks, missing information, lender policy issues, or compliance gaps and escalate them promptly to the broker or credit manager.
- Contribute to process improvement, workflow efficiency, customer experience, and consistent broker support standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience in mortgage broking, loan processing, credit support, banking, finance, or lending administration is highly desirable.
- Understanding of residential lending, commercial lending, asset finance, or broker-introduced loan applications will be viewed favourably.
- Knowledge of lender policies, loan application workflows, compliance requirements, credit assessment processes, and settlement procedures.
- Experience using CRM systems, loan origination platforms, lender portals, document management systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking, Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking Management, or relevant finance qualification is desirable but not essential.

- Sound analytical thinking and ability to support basic credit review, document checking, and lender policy interpretation.
- High level of confidentiality, professionalism, and integrity when handling sensitive financial information.
- Customer-focused approach with a commitment to timely follow-up and service excellence.
- Ability to work independently while also supporting brokers, credit managers, and broader operations teams.
Internal and External Stakeholders
- Internal: Mortgage brokers, finance brokers, credit managers, loan writers, and administration staff.
- External: Lenders, aggregator support teams, assessors, valuers, settlement teams, solicitors, conveyancers, accountants, and clients.
Key Performance Indicators
- Accuracy and completeness of loan files before submission.
- Timely follow-up of outstanding information, lender conditions, approvals, and settlements.
- Compliance with internal policies, responsible lending obligations, lender requirements, and record-keeping standards.
- Broker and client satisfaction with communication, support, and turnaround times.
- Effective pipeline management and contribution to smooth application-to-settlement outcomes.
