Data Portfolio Team Coordinator & Delivery Governance Lead

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organised and commercially minded Data Portfolio Team Coordinator & Delivery Governance Lead to play a critical role in supporting the successful delivery of thier Data portfolio.

This is a hands-on leadership role that combines portfolio governance, financial management, delivery oversight, and stakeholder engagement. You will work closely with Data leaders, delivery teams, Technology stakeholders, and business partners to provide visibility, governance, and control across a complex portfolio of initiatives.

More than a traditional PMO or coordination role, you will actively identify and resolve delivery challenges, support strategic decision-making, and ensure delivery outcomes align with business priorities and investment commitments.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Portfolio Governance & Delivery Oversight

- Lead portfolio governance processes, reporting cycles, forums, and controls
- Provide a clear and accurate view of delivery health across the Data portfolio
- Identify and proactively manage risks, dependencies, constraints, and delivery challenges
- Support leadership decision-making through meaningful reporting and analysis
- Ensure alignment between strategic priorities, delivery plans, and execution

Financial Planning & Portfolio Management

- Manage portfolio budgets, forecasts, funding allocation, and variance analysis
- Partner with Finance to ensure accurate financial reporting and controls
- Support business case development, investment planning, and funding approvals
- Assess the delivery and budget impacts of changes to scope and priorities

RAID Leadership





- Own and drive the portfolio RAID framework (Risks, Issues, Actions & Dependencies)
- Ensure risks and issues are clearly articulated with meaningful business impacts
- Drive mitigation plans and remediation activities through to resolution
- Escalate emerging delivery concerns with practical recommendations

Change & Governance Management

- Lead governance processes relating to scope, funding, priorities, and delivery commitments
- Ensure portfolio changes are appropriately assessed, documented, and approved
- Maintain transparency across portfolio decisions and investment outcomes
- Support prioritisation and governance decisions as business demand evolves

Delivery Support & Enablement

- Partner with delivery leads and stakeholders to remove blockers and drive outcomes
- Facilitate planning activities, dependency management, governance reviews, and decision forums
- Promote consistency across reporting, governance, and delivery practices
- Support delivery readiness and execution activities where required

Executive Reporting & Insights

- Prepare concise, high-quality reporting for senior leaders and governance committees
- Translate complex delivery information into clear business outcomes and recommendations
- Identify trends, insights, risks, and opportunities across the portfolio
- Provide data-driven analysis on portfolio performance, investment outcomes, and delivery health

Continuous Improvement





- Enhance governance frameworks, standards, templates, and processes
- Drive improvements that increase visibility, transparency, and delivery confidence
- Ensure governance practices remain practical, scalable, and outcome focused

About You You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys working in fast-paced, complex environments and is comfortable balancing governance discipline with delivery pragmatism.

You will bring:

- Proven experience in Portfolio Governance, PMO, Delivery Management, Portfolio Management, or related roles
- Experience working within Data, Technology, Digital, or Transformation functions
- Strong financial management capabilities, including forecasting, budgeting, and investment planning
- Experience managing risks, issues, dependencies, schedules, and change processes
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across technical and business teams
- Advanced reporting and analytical capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level reporting
- The ability to simplify complex information and drive informed decision-making
- A highly organised, structured, and outcome-focused approach
