SG Periodontics is seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team in Chatswood, NSW. This is a casual position that offers flexibility whilst providing essential support to our dental professionals and patients. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinical operations, maintaining high standards of patient care, and contributing to the success of our periodontal practice.
Your support will directly impact both the quality of patient experience and the efficiency of our clinical team. Prior healthcare experience is highly regarded, but not required. Ongoing clinical training will be provided.
What you'll be doing
- Assisting dentists and periodontists during clinical procedures by preparing instruments, materials and equipment
- Providing chairside support during patient treatments, including suctioning, retraction and passing instruments
- Sterilising and maintaining dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols
- Recording patient information and maintaining accurate clinical notes
- Greeting patients, managing appointment scheduling and maintaining a welcoming reception environment
- Preparing treatment rooms and ensuring they meet infection control standards before and after procedures
- Assisting with laboratory procedures and materials management
- Supporting the smooth running of clinical operations and maintaining a clean, organised practice environment

- Strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to providing excellent patient care
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly with clinical documentation

- No prior dental experience or qualifications required
