Great Alpine Dental

Myrtleford

Associate Dentist For the right dentist, this is the role that changes the trajectory

Early-career dentist, 1–5 years out. Real mentoring in complex care. No weekends, no after-hours, 6–8 weeks leave.

Let's be honest about the first few years out of uni.

The hardest part was never the dentistry. It was doing it alone.

- Finishing tricky cases with nobody to ask?
- Watching a half-empty book and second-guessing your income?
- Same three procedures on repeat, while the interesting work goes to someone else?
- Tired equipment, and habits you'll spend years unlearning?
- Being managed, not mentored?
- Paying city rent to stand still?

If that's the job you're in, read on.

Now picture the opposite.

• A mentor at the next chair.

- A structured book that keeps you busy from week one.
- The full scope of dentistry actually in your hands.
- Your weekends and evenings back, permanently.

That's this role.

The practice

Great Alpine Dental runs a full digital workflow and a risk-based, full-mouth philosophy: long-term health outcomes, multidisciplinary not single-tooth dentistry. Dr Amit holds a postgraduate diploma in implant therapy from the European Association of Osseointegration, a diploma in digital orthodontics and is currently in the Kois Center graduate program. That thinking drives every case here.

In your surgery: Primescan · CEREC · inLab CAD/CAM · CBCT · in-house 3D printing (Primeprint) · rotary endo with new files for every patient · electric handpieces · your own DSLR setup.

The case mix

General dentistry with a lot of perio, worn dentition, full-mouth rehabs, implant therapy, aligner orthodontics and complex aesthetics. Patients drive in from Wangaratta, Albury–Wodonga and Bright, often for a second opinion. They want comprehensive care, not a quick fix.

It's a high-income region with a lot of retired executives who take their health seriously. Case acceptance is strong and your days are genuinely interesting.

What you'll actually be building

From day one you get the time and the tools to do a proper comprehensive new-patient examination. That's the foundation of global diagnosis and everything that follows. From there, a structured pathway: clinical photography, CEREC, wisdom teeth surgery, and a gradual build toward reconstructive and aesthetic work, with a mentor experienced in complex reconstruction beside you the whole way.

And the longer arc: Dr Amit intends to step back from clinical days over time and hand the clinical side of the practice to clinicians he has trained himself. If you want to become a complete clinician and eventually lead the clinical work in a practice like this, that path exists here and it's the reason this role is open.

What we're looking for

Someone early in their career and genuinely ambitious about becoming a complete clinician. Coachable, self-motivated, honest, and clear that strong ethics and strong output aren't in conflict. You'll be expected to perform with excellence, and you'll get honest feedback on quality, metrics, attitude and patient response, because that's how you actually get better. We support you to do your best work, then trust you to do it.

The goal is simple:

to have you doing as much clinical work as you're capable of, as confidently as possible, as soon as possible. Your growth and the practice's growth are the same thing.

In return

• Direct access to Dr Amit: real mentoring, not a manager who's too busy for you

- A structured appointment book that keeps you productive from the start
- Sliding-scale remuneration that rewards what you build
- 4–5 days, 8:30–5, an hour for lunch. No weekends. No after-hours.
- Custom-built practice: big surgeries, natural light, ergonomic throughout

• A close team that supports each other in and out of work

The region

This is not a compromise posting. North East Victoria is one of Australia's most liveable regions: four seasons, five distinct landscapes, and more on your doorstep than most city-dwellers drive hours to reach on a long weekend.

- Winter: Falls Creek, Mt Hotham and Mt Buffalo, all under two hours away.
- Summer: the Ovens and Murray Rivers, Lake Buffalo, hundreds of kilometres of alpine trails.
- Year-round: the Great Alpine Road, cool-climate wines from Beechworth and Milawa, King Valley Italian varietals, Rutherglen fortifieds, and the Wangaratta Jazz Festival.

Albury–Wodonga is 45 minutes away. It's one of Australia's fastest-growing inland cities, with direct flights to Sydney, positive schools, real social life, and housing that won't consume your income. Wangaratta is 30 minutes from the door and 2.5 hours from Melbourne by car or train.

Ready?

If you're one to five years out and you want mentoring, a full book, and the full scope of dentistry, click apply or reach out for a relaxed conversation well before any formal process. Amit, Great Alpine Dental
