The Director of Teaching & Learning will play an important role in strengthening the College's culture of collaboration, innovation, reflective practice and academic excellence.

The Role

Commencing January 2027 and working closely with the Head of Senior School, Senior Executive, Academic Dean and Faculty Coordinators, the Director will lead the continued development of a collaborative, innovative and evidence-informed learning culture across Years 7-12.

The position has a strong focus on improving classroom practice, strengthening curriculum and assessment practices, developing academic leaders and using student data to support improved learning outcomes. The successful candidate will also contribute as an active member of the College Leadership Team and support the implementation of the College's mission, vision and strategic priorities.

The role works directly with teachers and senior leaders to strengthen the College's learning framework, improve classroom pedagogy and promote excellence in academic outcomes and professional learning.

The chance The Director of Teaching & Learning will provide strategic and operational leadership across the Senior School, with responsibility for:

- Leading the development, implementation and evaluation of high-quality curriculum across Years 7-12.
- Promoting evidence informed, innovative and differentiated teaching practices across all faculties.
- Building a collaborative culture of academic rigour,



professional reflection and continuous improvement.
- Leading and supporting Faculty Coordinators through coaching, mentoring and regular Academic Team meetings.
- Strengthening assessment for, of and as learning across the Senior School.
- Using internal and external assessment data to evaluate programs, inform teaching practice and improve student growth.
- Overseeing curriculum documentation, programming, assessment processes and relevant NESA compliance requirements.
- Supporting the development of a coherent P-12 learning framework in partnership with the Director of Teaching & Learning - Junior School.
- Leading skilled learning priorities aligned with the strategic direction of the College.
- Contributing to strategic planning and broader College decision making.

The role also collaborates with Learning Enrichment, Gifted and Talented and other specialist leaders to ensure curriculum and teaching practices respond effectively to the diverse learning needs of students. About you The successful candidate will be an accomplished educator and instructional leader who can demonstrate:

- Strong experience leading teaching, learning, curriculum and assessment within a secondary school context.
- A record of improving classroom practice and student learning outcomes through evidence-informed leadership.
- The ability to develop, coach and empower middle leaders and teaching staff.




- Experience leading curriculum evaluation, assessment processes and the effective use of student achievement data.
- Sound knowledge of NESA curriculum, assessment and compliance requirements.
- The capacity to lead innovation and sustainable educational change.
- Highly developed communication, collaboration and relationship building skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple strategic and operational priorities.
- Exemplary classroom practice and an ongoing commitment to professional learning and educational research.
- A commitment to supporting and actively contributing to the Christian mission and wider life of Thomas Hassall Anglican College.
