About the opportunity
There is currently one (1) 12-month, fixed-term, full-time position with the possibility of extension and/or permanency for immediate filling.
We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join the Commission as Director Regional Development. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving economic development initiatives, attracting investment, fostering industry diversification and delivering projects that create sustainable growth and positive outcomes for regional communities.
You will lead the development and implementation of regional development strategies,
oversee major projects and investment opportunities, and provide expert advice to executive leadership, government stakeholders and community partners.
We are looking for someone who has:
· Significant leadership experience in regional development, economic development, infrastructure or related sectors.
· Strong strategic planning, project management and financial management skills.
· Experience developing business cases, funding applications and policy advice.
· Exceptional stakeholder engagement, negotiation and communication skills.
· The ability to influence outcomes across diverse stakeholder groups.
Experience working in or with regional communities and an understanding of the Western Australian public sector environment will be highly regarded.

due to the requirement to be based in Karratha (subject to the conditions and eligibility criteria being met):
· Housing: where approved and available, you may be provided with housing with subsidised rent or could qualify for a Home Ownership Subsidy Scheme payment
· District Allowance: the payment of up to $9,449 per annum, depending on location (an additional payment applies where there are dependants)
· Additional leave and travel concessions: provision of additional annual leave (total of 5 weeks per year), time where travel is required for medical treatment or bereavement purposes and annual leave travel concession payments
· Air conditioning subsidy: the payment of subsidies to assist with the cost of running refrigerated ducted or split system air-conditioning
· Flexible working arrangements: options to work flexibly to accommodate your personal circumstances, where the operational demands of the Pilbara Development Commission can also be met
· Removal and disturbance allowances
