Disability Support Worker ( Dementia experience )

Location: Adelaide, SA (North Eastern Suburbs)

About Us

KinAya Support is a registered NDIS provider committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred supports to people living with disability. We are currently seeking experienced and compassionate Disability Support Workers with a strong background in supporting participants living with dementia and complex care needs.

About the Role

This is a casual position supporting a participant with dementia in a home setting. You will play a key role in promoting dignity, independence and quality of life while providing person-centred support tailored to the participant's individual needs.

Shifts may include

- Morning, afternoon and evening shifts

- Weekend work

- Passive overnight shifts (as required)

Key Responsibilities

- Provide high-quality personal care and daily living support.

- Support participants living with dementia using person-centred approaches.

- Respond appropriately to behaviours of concern using low-arousal strategies.

- Promote engagement through meaningful activities.

- Complete accurate documentation, including progress notes and incident reporting.

- Work collaboratively with families, allied health professionals and the wider support team.

- Follow individual support plans, behaviour support plans and organisational policies.

Essential Requirements





- Previous experience supporting people living with dementia (essential).

- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability or equivalent.

- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.

- NDIS Worker Orientation Module.

- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate.

- Current Manual Handling and Medication Administration competency.

- Valid Australian Driver's Licence and reliable, insured vehicle.

- Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).

- Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude.

Desirable

- Experience supporting participants with complex behaviours or high-intensity support needs.

- Knowledge of dementia care best practice.

- Experience working within the NDIS sector.
