About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Duty Manager to join our dynamic team. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll play a key part in keeping The Toff’s heartbeat steady and strong. You’ll oversee nightly operations, support the Venue Manager, lead and inspire a dedicated team, and help maintain the high standards that make The Toff one of Melbourne’s most beloved late-night venues.

This role is suited to someone who thrives in the world of late-night hospitality and is comfortable working late into the early hours - a minimum of 2 years experience in a late night, high volume workplace is required!

This is a casual position, paid at level 4, with between 25 and 35 hours per week available depending on events

What You’ll Do

- Venue Operations: Oversee nightly operations across both Stage Side and Carriage Bar, ensuring everything runs smoothly from open to close.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, support, and motivate staff, maintaining high service standards and team morale throughout the night.
- Event Management: Work closely with promoters, artists, and production teams to ensure seamless event delivery and exceptional guest experiences.




- Customer Care: Be the go-to for guest inquiries and incident management, ensuring issues are resolved quickly and professionally.
- Compliance & Safety: Maintain compliance with licensing, RSA, and health and safety regulations.
- Deliver Memorable Nights: Help create the welcoming, electric atmosphere that The Toff is known for — where every night feels a little bit special.

About You You’re a confident and capable operator who knows how to read a room, manage a crowd, and lead a team with calm authority. You bring both hospitality smarts and a love for Melbourne’s nightlife scene.

- Previous experience as a Duty Manager or in a leadership role within a busy bar, club, or live music venue.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to guide and motivate a diverse team.
- A knack for problem-solving and staying composed in high-pressure situations.
- A genuine passion for live music, events, and late-night culture.
- Availability to work late nights and weekends — this is where the magic happens.
