One of Sydney's landmark pubs, The Glebe Hotel caters to its corporate clientele and locals alike with a variety of service areas including a public bar, TAB, gaming room, a 70-seat restaurant, a leafy beer garden, and a first-floor cocktail bar for functions. We prioritize high-quality food and beverage service and a friendly atmosphere and we are currently seeking a manager who has the experience in running daily pub operations with a strong background in A la Carte dining.
About the role
This role offers the chance to work in a vibrant, traditionally styled pub environment where you will lead the team with a hands on approach to enhance our customers overall experience. You will oversee the daily operations of all front of house procedures in our public bar, tab, gaming room, restaurant and function areas. Other key aspects in the role will include:
- responsibility for overseeing 10+ staff at any one time
- train, motivate and develop a dynamic team to ensure our customers always receive a positive experience
- excellent attention to detail
- cash reconciliation and detailed reporting
- gaming & TAB operational experience preferred
- understanding of cellar operations
- good working knowledge of Now Book It (or other) online reservations systems
- report directly to the licensee
- safety and security of patrons and the hotel premise

About you The successful candidate will have a passion for the hospitality industry, be career focused and have strong leadership qualities. Other key skills and experience will include:
- a minimum of 12 months experience in pub and restaurant management
- strong communication skills with the ability to successfully liaise with management, customers and staff
- a genuine interest in food, wine, beer and cocktails
- ability to share knowledge, mentor and train staff
- strong work ethic with a positive, proactive can do attitude
- an interest in social media platforms
- understand and respect the policies and procedures that assist in successfully running the business
- high personal and qualified standards
- valid RSA & ARCG certification
