Therapeutic Guidelines Limited (TGL) is looking for an Editor to join our talented Publishing team. You will work with Expert Writing Groups to develop and update clinical advice based on the latest evidence and contextualised for Australian practice. TGL is an independent, not-for-profit organisation. Our mission is to promote the quality use of medicines by publishing trusted clinical resources, including Therapeutic Guidelines and Australian Prescriber. We also publish resources developed by Advanced Pharmacy Australia: ObesiD, Don’t Rush to Crush and the Australian Injectable Drugs Handbook.

Therapeutic Guidelines is a point-of-care clinical reference database covering over 2500 diagnoses.

TGL’s independence is underpinned by its financial self-sufficiency, giving it the freedom to operate with integrity and purpose.

The organisation has a wide reach and is deeply trusted. TGL is embedded in the Australian healthcare community, supporting general practitioners, hospital doctors, specialists, pharmacists, dentists, nurses and students. All medical, pharmacy and dental students are trained using Therapeutic Guidelines. Most healthcare professionals report using the guidelines daily or weekly, making TGL’s content part of the fabric of clinical care in Australia.

Through its Partnership Program, TGL also supports quality use of medicines and the development and distribution of guidelines in low-resource settings, extending its impact beyond national borders.

About the role

As an Editor, you will work closely with Australian clinical experts to track, assess and distil practice-changing evidence into clear, practical and accessible clinical advice.

You will receive structured and comprehensive orientation and training,



combining formal skills and process training with experiential learning and regular feedback.

Reporting to a Senior Editor, you will gradually take on greater responsibility and autonomy. You will also have opportunities to contribute to process improvement and innovation, with career development and progression supported at all levels.

What your week looks like

No 2 weeks are quite the same. In a typical week, you may:

- review priorities and brief your manager on project progress, risks and roadblocks
- structurally edit and copyedit topic drafts
- work with Expert Writing Group members to resolve queries and support literature searches
- participate in Publishing team and project meetings
- liaise with Production Editors to prepare for an Expert Writing Group meeting
- maintain accurate project information and timelines in our project management systems
- collaborate with colleagues across the organisation
- catch up over coffee with your workplace buddies.

About you

You are a skilled clinical professional who communicates clearly, manages competing priorities and works constructively with a range of stakeholders. You are committed to evidence-based practice and interested in applying your clinical expertise to the development of trusted national guidance.

You have

- a tertiary qualification in pharmacy or medicine
- at least 3 years of postgraduate clinical experience
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- strong project management and problem-solving skills
- excellent attention to detail




- the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities
- the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Experience in editing, guideline development or digital publishing would be highly regarded but is not essential.
