About the role

Bossy Boots Early Learning Kingscliff is seeking an experienced and passionate Educational Leader and 2IC to join our dedicated team. This is a full-time, one-year position covering a Maternity leave but has the opportunity to evolve into other leadership roles and continued 2IC for anyone wanting to progress beyond 12 months. In this pivotal role, you will work alongside our centre leadership to foster a stimulating and nurturing environment where young learners thrive.

As second-in-charge, you will play a crucial role in implementing our educational philosophy, supporting staff development, and ensuring the highest standards of care and learning outcomes for all children in our centre. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on early childhood education whilst contributing to the strategic direction of our service.

What you'll be doing

- Leading the implementation of innovative educational programmes that align with the National Quality Framework and Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)

- Supporting and mentoring educators to enhance their professional practice and reflective teaching methodologies

- Coordinating children's learning experiences and developmental assessments, documenting progress and communicating outcomes with families

- Assisting in the management of daily centre operations, including staff scheduling, resource allocation, and maintaining a safe and compliant learning environment

- Building and maintaining positive relationships with families, fostering community engagement and involvement in the centre

- Implementing quality improvement strategies and contributing to continuous professional development within the team

- Supporting the Nominated Supervisor in all centre responsibilities, including duty of care and regulatory compliance





- Modelling best practice in early childhood education and demonstrating commitment to ongoing professional learning

- Collaborating with external agencies and services to support children's individual needs, including those with additional support requirements

What we're looking for

- Formal early childhood education qualifications, such as a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent recognised qualification

- Current First Aid and CPR certification appropriate for early childhood settings

- Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework, Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) standards, and the Early Years Learning Framework

- Demonstrated experience in a leadership or mentoring capacity within an early childhood setting

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and staff members

- Sound understanding of child development, learning theories, and inclusive practices that support all children to reach their potential

- Strong organisational and time-management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities
- A genuine passion for early childhood education and a commitment to creating positive learning environments

- Current Working with Children Check or ability to obtain one

- Proficiency with technology and centre management systems is highly desirable
