About the Role Alcoa’s WA Mining business is seeking an Emergency Services Officer based at the Willowdale mine. The role is permanent, with a 2 days on/2 nights on and 5 days off roster. The officer will provide specialist emergency response support, pre‑hospital care, and technical advice to help teams prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergency situations.
Responsibilities - Respond to and control emergency incidents, alarms, and requests for assistance in line with site emergency plans and procedures.
- Provide pre‑hospital care, patient treatment and emergency medical response support during incidents.
- Coordinate and support the onsite Emergency Response Team, including drills, training and operational debriefs.
- Maintain emergency response equipment, appliances and systems to ensure operational readiness.
- Support high‑risk work through emergency planning, rescue plans, workplace inspections and safety advice.
- Assist with site access, asset protection and liaison with internal stakeholders, contractors, visitors and external agencies.

Qualifications - Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue or Certificate III in Public Safety, including relevant rescue and firefighting units of competency.
- Certificate IV in Health Care, current Provide First Aid, drug and alcohol testing competency, and a Heavy Rigid licence.
- Demonstrated capability in emergency response, rescue disciplines and pre‑hospital care.
- Strong communication, organisation and decision‑making skills, particularly in emergency situations.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with employees, contractors, site leaders, medical teams and external emergency services.
- A strong commitment to health, safety, operational readiness and maintaining the fitness required to safely perform the role.

Willowdale is one of Alcoa's two bauxite mines in Western Australia, located in the Darling Scarp east of Waroona and Cookernup. It supplies bauxite ore to the Wagerup Alumina Refinery and helps produce almost half of Australia’s alumina and approximately 19% of Australia’s aluminium.
