Leading a team within Engineering Foundations, you'll be responsible for building the capabilities that empower engineering teams across the organisation. From developer experience and infrastructure automation through to cloud platforms and emerging AI-powered development workflows, your team will create the foundations that allow others to innovate with confidence.

What you'll be doing

- Lead and mentor a high-performing team of engineers focused on developer experience and engineering platforms.
- Define the product vision and roadmap for the team's platform capabilities, ensuring they deliver measurable value to engineering teams.
- Drive the adoption of contemporary engineering practices across infrastructure automation, cloud platforms and software delivery.
- Partner with senior technology stakeholders to shape the future of Engineering Foundations.
- Champion platform reliability, security, governance and operational excellence.
- Help lead the organisation's evolution towards Agentic Development and AI-assisted software engineering.
- Foster a collaborative engineering culture focused on continuous improvement and technical excellence.

Your team will work across a modern engineering ecosystem including:

- Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform
- .NET, C#, Go and Python
- API and Microservice architectures
- API Gateway and Model Context Protocol
- Agentic AI tooling including Claude,



Vertex AI and similar platforms
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- DevSecOps and CI/CD
- Observability platforms including Dynatrace and Splunk

This is a leadership role, but it's one where technical credibility matters. You'll have previous hands-on engineering experience and a strong understanding of modern cloud platforms, software engineering and infrastructure automation. While you may not spend your days writing production code anymore, you'll be comfortable challenging technical decisions, supporting architectural discussions and providing guidance to experienced engineers.

You'll likely bring:

- Previous experience leading engineering teams in a modern software delivery environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and modern Microsoft technologies, particularly .NET and C#.
- Experience designing and delivering cloud-native platforms, APIs and microservices.
- A background in Infrastructure as Code, DevSecOps and CI/CD automation.
- Experience building or supporting engineering platforms and developer tooling.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence technical and business leaders.
- A product mindset, with experience defining roadmaps and delivering platform capabilities that create value for engineering teams.

Experience with Google Cloud Platform, Agentic AI development, developer tooling or platform engineering will be highly regarded. Why this role?
