About the Role Reporting to the Locomotive Service Shop Supervisor in Port Hedland, this role suits an individual who is highly proactive, able to work autonomously with strong problem-solving skills and have an overriding commitment to safety. This role will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, repairing, and overhauling the SD70 Ace locomotives.

Responsibilities include

- Ensuring behaviour aligns with the BHP Charter Values, the BHP Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct, and relevant statutory obligations.
- An overriding commitment to health, safety, and environment within Rail
- Contributing to an inclusive and diverse culture
- Adherence to Work Management principles and discipline.
- Attending and contributing to the BHP Operating System (BOS) routines Performance, Improvement, 5S
- Contribute to high fleet availability through routine maintenance, focused on quality work and a defect elimination.




- Strong commitment to the field leadership and task-based risk assessments Location / Roster In this fly-in fly-out role you will be housed at our Port Haven camp facility in the coastal town of Port Hedland, Western Australia on 7 days 7 nights on, 14 days off roster. Port Hedland is home to our port and rail operations and is a large regional centre in Northwest Australia.

The excellent sporting and leisure facilities at Port Haven include a swimming pool, gymnasium, basketball, and squash courts, golf nets and a theatre room all provide our employees the option to keep active and entertained during their time spent at camp. with significant room upgrades at Port Haven this further adds to a level of comfort during the stay.

About You

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following skills and experience:

- Working knowledge of locomotive electrical systems – Highly regarded
- Interpret technical drawings
- Maintenance and fault-finding experience.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- 1SAP and Fiori maintenance systems
