Where you'll be working The StEPS service operates from St Leonards and Seaforth.
What you'll be doing
This position involves working independently within a community-based service,
visiting early childhood education settings (including preschools and childcare centres) across NSLHD to deliver vision screening to preschool-aged children. The role requires the ability to meet the job demands of the position, including the capacity to work at low levels to conduct screening activities. A driver's license and willing to drive is essential.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team as well as having sound computer literacy including the use of health related systems such as the electronic medical record (eMR) system
- Demonstrated recent experience as an EN with working with children and families, an understanding of child development and early intervention.
- Demonstrated ability to provide safe compassionate quality care, that is culturally responsive whilst meeting deadlines in an environment of minimal supervision and rapid change.
