The Noarlunga Volunteer Transport Service (NVTS) is a not-for-profit provider of transport services for aged persons in Adelaide’s southern area. The purpose of the NVTS is to provide a flexible and timely transport service that responds to client's individual and specific needs, enhancing their quality of life and independence within the community.
Based in the heart of Noarlunga, the NVTS consists of five administrative staff and 35 volunteers who deliver more than 12,000 client trips per annum using a fleet of eight vehicles.
The NVTS is seeking to appoint a new Executive Officer to lead and manage the daily operational requirements of the service and to further advance our strategic goals. This position reports directly to the NVTS Board.
Key Responsibilities include:
· Actively manage daily operational needs to ensure the NVTS is operating effectively, meeting our client, community and contractual requirements. This includes maximising utilisation of the NVTS fleet of vehicles and volunteer availability.
· Monitor the overall financial performance of the NVTS including efficient management of the approved budget, reviewing trip fees, cash investments and grant funding allocation.
· Ensure the NVTS is complying with all entity requirements (e.g. legal, safety, grant funding, policies, Constitution).
· Present detailed prompt reports to the Board addressing client, risk, safety, financial and operational matters as relevant.
· Action requests and decisions as advised by the Board.
· Actively liaise and negotiate with funding bodies.
· Oversee the management of funding agreements,
ensuring services are delivered as stipulated with reporting requirements met.
· Manage the preparation of tenders, new funding proposals and submissions.
· Develop and foster external relationships to assist with advancing the strategic goals of the NVTS.
· Represent the NVTS at relevant meetings, committees, working groups and professional forums.
Qualifications/Experience/Skills sought:
· Tertiary qualification in community development/services, social sciences, management or relevant extensive experience.
· Excellent understanding of Aged Care practices, particularly the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commisssion standards, Aged Care Act 2024 and Aged Care Rules 2025.
· Extensive experience in the philosophy and operations of non-government service agencies, particularly in relation to business development and the management of volunteers.
· Experience in dealing with government agencies including submission preparation, reporting and criteria.
· Proven leadership acumen, with the ability to influence and motivate others, and facilitate meaningful communication between organisations and community groups.
· Highly developed interpersonal skills to foster positive working relationships, support effective consultation and negotiations with staff, government agencies and the community both verbally and in writing.
· Self-directed, committed and innovative leader.
The remuneration is aligned with Level 8 of the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (SCHADS).
