Since 1951, Darra Joinery has been manufacturing high-quality custom timber windows, doors and bespoke cabinetry for residential and commercial projects throughout South-East Queensland.
We are a family-owned and operated business with a reputation for quality craftsmanship, attention to detail and delivering exceptional products to our clients.
Operating from our factory at Sumner, we manufacture everything in-house with our own timber yard, paint shop, joinery and cabinetry departments. Our team includes qualified joiners, cabinet makers, wood machinists and apprentices who take pride in producing custom-made timber products to the highest standard.

What you'll be doing
- Set up and operate a variety of woodworking machinery including panel saws, spindle moulders,
thicknessers, planers, dock saws and other timber processing equipment.
- Select, prepare and machine solid timber and timber components to meet production requirements.
- Perform quality checks to ensure all products meet required standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance to WHS regulations.
- Handle and move timber safely throughout the manufacturing process.
- Assist with general factory duties as required.
What we're looking for
- Certificate III in Wood Machining or demonstrated experience operating industrial woodworking machinery. Trade qualifications are highly regarded but not essential for applicants with substantial industry experience.
- Proven experience operating a variety of woodworking machinery.
- Knowledge of timber machining techniques, woodworking machinery and quality timber products.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- A forklift licence is a bonus, but not essential.
- Applicants must have unrestricted Australian working rights. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
