We are looking for an experienced and highly adept technical maintainer, able to work effectively without supervision and establish and maintain positive working relationships and rapport with the RAAF, Daronmont and subcontractor personnel.
Daronmont is an Australian systems integrator specialising in fixed and deployable C4, surveillance and electronics. Daronmont designs, manufactures and supports deployable C4 and laboratory systems, hardware and software intensive electronic capabilities including Passive Radar and Communications ESM and distributed training applications. Daronmont offers a capable workforce of over 120 engineers and support staff, encompassing systems, software, hardware, mechanical and ILS disciplines.

As a Daronmont Field Service Representative (FSR) you will facilitate the delivery of on-site support services to the Commonwealth focusing on technical maintenance, logistics and training support for the various Daronmont fielded complex electronic and IT based communications and simulation platforms in operational service at Air Force Bases Williamtown (NSW) and Darwin (NT) in support of No.3 Control and Reporting Unit (3CRU), Surveillance and Control Training Unit (SACTU) and No. 114 Mobile Control and Reporting Unit (114MCRU).
Key Responsibilities:
Provision of FSR Maintenance Support Services to 3CRU, SACTU and 114MCRU, including
Core Duties
· Development of system knowledge to assist with fault finding, setup for deployment, and system configuration.
· Provide technical advice to RAAF personnel for regular maintenance as well as during pre-deployment setup and post deployment reconstitution
· Identify opportunities for maintenance efficiency improvements and advising senior unit maintenance staff (e.g. SENGO, MAINTO, WOE and SGTs).
· Provide status on the progress of on-site Daronmont tasks being conducted by the FSR.
Additional Duties:
· Support communications between ADF on-site and off-site technical staff, and Daronmont/Contractor on-site and off-site technical staff.
· Provide local validation of Maintenance Instructions.
· Facilitate informal scenario-based training of Maintainers and Operators.
· Assist Daronmont Engineers performing on-site Engineering Investigations, Engineering Changes and testing on the Daronmont Mission Systems.
· Provide design input to Engineering Changes in collaboration with other members of the Daronmont engineering team.
· Provide input to plans for the future development of the Capability.
Our Ideal Candidate will have the following experience, core skills and personal attributes:
· Previous experience as an FSR in a defence environment (preferably in the Air Battle Management or Communications fields).
· Extensive experience and strong knowledge of maintaining and supporting complex technology or IT based systems
· An articulate communicator with appreciation for different communication styles required when working with team members or customers.
· Strong work ethic ensuring honesty, reliability and consistency to responsibly undertake tasks.
· Ability to work remotely without supervision or contribute effectively to a team effort.
· Dedication to effective prioritisation and management of time.
· A strong safety culture with exposure working within a Safety Management System.
· A continuous improvement attitude to self-education to maintaining technical currency.
Desirable Skills / Personal Attributes:
· Knowledge of maintenance management & logistics systems (CAMM2 & ERP)
· Robust technical knowledge of deployable Mission Systems, consisting of Local Area Networks, Voice Communication Systems, Telecommunication Links, ICT Systems and Uninterruptable Power Supplies.
· Knowledge of computer architecture and networks.
· Knowledge of telecommunication systems, protocols and access requests.
· Able to lead a small team when required to meet objectives.
· Comfortable with high pressure changing environments and situations, ensuring ability to remain flexible and adaptable.
Eligibility:
Candidate must be an Australian Citizen, eligible to attain a defence clearance at Negative Vetting 1 (or possibly an NV2 clearance) and able to be provided access to ITAR data.
This role will ideally be based in Darwin NT but could be based in Newcastle NSW with regular interstate travel to support the RAAF customer and Daronmont Air Battle Management Systems.
