Job Summary:

The Finance Business Partner is the primary finance contact for key business units, responsible for delivering sharp financial analysis, challenging assumptions and decisions, and helping the organisation make better-informed commercial choices. Working closely with Operations, Sales and Technology, and reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll bring robust financial modelling, scenario analysis, budgeting and forecasting to the table, contribute to executive-level reporting, and help lift financial capability across the business.

This is a high-visibility role with genuine influence over commercial decisions — your insight will shape where the business invests and how it grows.

Key Responsibilities:

- Act as the go-to finance partner for your business units, providing proactive support, insight and a forward-looking view — not just historical reporting
- Prepare monthly management reporting with clear commentary on key metrics, trends and performance for department heads
- Run deep variance analysis (actuals vs budget and forecast), identify root causes and recommend corrective action
- Build and present financial models, business cases and scenario analyses to support investment, pricing and operational decisions
- Partner with department heads to develop the annual budget and quarterly forecasts using driver-based, commercially grounded models
- Challenge business inputs, assumptions and proposed decisions with rigorous, structured financial analysis
- Lead scenario planning and sensitivity analysis for major strategic decisions,



presenting risks and opportunities clearly
- Contribute to the long-range financial plan and multi-year strategic modelling alongside the Financial Controller and executive team
- Identify financial risks early and escalate with recommendations — not just problems
- Champion financial literacy across departments, coaching budget holders on accountability and performance
- Collaborate with the Financial Accountant and external advisers to ensure quality, consistency and compliance in financial processes and treatments

About You:

- CA or CPA qualified (or in progress); Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
- 3–5 years post-qualification experience in management accounting or commercial finance, with proven business partnering exposure
- Strong financial reporting, variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling skills
- Experience translating complex financial data into clear, actionable recommendations for non-finance audiences
- Proficiency in Excel (advanced); experience with Xero or equivalent accounting platform
- Demonstrated ability to challenge assumptions constructively and hold a position under pressure
- Exceptional written and verbal communication — confident in executive forums and one-on-one stakeholder settings
- High attention to detail, strong work ethic, ability to manage competing priorities autonomously

Important Information This role is based in Sydney, Australia, and operates on a hybrid basis with three days per week in the office to support collaboration.
