Part-Time Finance Manager
Permanent Part-Time | 2–3 Days Per Week | Remote Sydney or Melbourne An established and growing Australian animal health pharmaceutical business is looking to appoint an experienced Part-Time Finance Manager.
The company operates within the animal health sector and offers a growing portfolio of products across several veterinary markets.
With a strong pipeline, an expanding product portfolio and further growth planned through new product development and potential acquisitions, the business is now looking to bring more of its Australian finance function in-house.
The role
Reporting directly to the Founder, you will take ownership of the company’s Australian finance, compliance and reporting requirements while working closely with an offshore transactional finance team.
This is a broad, hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys working in an entrepreneurial and fast-growing business.
Responsibilities will include
- Coordinating ASIC, BAS, GST and ATO requirements
- Managing Australian tax filings and statutory compliance
- Preparing monthly financial and board reports
- Coordinating with external auditors and accounting advisers
- Reviewing costs across logistics, freight and shipping
- Providing accounting guidance to the offshore finance team
- Reviewing journal entries, adjustments, debits and credits
- Maintaining and improving asset registers
- Strengthening financial controls, reporting and internal processes
- Supporting accounting for acquisitions
- Reviewing goodwill and tangible and intangible assets
- Responding to ad hoc financial and commercial matters as the business grows
About you You will be a mid-to-senior finance qualified with strong technical accounting knowledge and the confidence to operate independently.
You will ideally bring
- CA or CPA qualifications, or equivalent experience
- Experience within animal health, healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotechnology or another regulated industry
- Strong knowledge of Australian tax, BAS, GST and statutory reporting requirements
- Experience coordinating with auditors and external advisers
- Exposure to R&D; tax incentives or rebates
- An understanding of acquisition accounting
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Experience with Xero, particularly payroll-related processes
- Experience within an ASX-listed or highly governed business would be advantageous
- A practical, positive and solution-focused approach
- The ability to manage changing priorities and unexpected challenges

- Permanent part-time employment
