About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our team based in Surfers Paradise.

This is a full-time position offering excellent career progression opportunities within our growing organisation.

The ideal candidate will bring strong financial acumen, a background in funds management or mortgage lending, and familiarity with the financial and regulatory workplace under which AFSL holders operate.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, general ledger, and reporting.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, ASIC requirements, and internal policies.
- Perform and review key regulatory calculations, including NTA and other AFSL-related reporting obligations.
- Manage and mentor finance staff,



fostering professional development and team efficiency.
- Analyse financial data to identify trends and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
- Implement and maintain robust financial controls and systems.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.

What We’re Looking For

- Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance professional.
- Experience in a mortgage fund, managed investment scheme, or similar funds management environment is highly regarded.
- CPA or CA qualification preferred, with strong technical accounting and compliance skills.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial analysis.
- Working knowledge of AFSL compliance, ASIC regulatory requirements, and associated reporting standards.
- High proficiency in financial management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
