About the Role

This 12-month fixed-term role sits within Hollard’s Enterprise Risk Management team, supporting financial risk oversight, challenge, and advice across insurance, capital, market, liquidity, and credit risk, aligned with APRA requirements and risk management frameworks.

Key Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

- Support and strengthen the Financial Risk Management Framework by providing governance, oversight, and pragmatic risk advice aligned with business objectives and risk appetite.
- Partner with Finance, Actuarial, and Commercial teams to identify, assess, and manage insurance and financial risks while building strong stakeholder relationships.
- Independently review and challenge first-line risk management activities,



including risk assessments, controls, incidents, issues, and Risk Appetite Statement (RAS) metrics.
- Deliver assurance activities by monitoring control effectiveness, conducting targeted reviews, and supporting the annual assurance plan across financial risk processes.
- Prepare risk reporting for governance committees (HRMC and BRC) and develop and maintain financial and insurance risk management policies, frameworks, and reporting.

About You

- Significant experience in financial risk within insurance or financial services, with exposure to operational risk; general insurance experience strongly preferred.
- Solid analytical capability with experience interpreting financial reporting, P&L;, and risk data to support business decisions.
- Sound knowledge of APRA CPS 220 and regulatory requirements, with experience applying risk management frameworks and risk profiling.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across Finance, Actuarial, and senior business leaders while communicating complex concepts clearly.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, with relevant qualifications in actuarial studies, finance, or another quantitative discipline highly regarded
