A fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing the effiecient operation, maintanance and administration of an organisation's vehicle fleet to ensure protected, cost-effective and complaint transport services.

Organising the purchase, leasing, registration, servicing, repair, and replacement of transport vehicles, equipment, and fuel to ensure the fleet remains operational and meets business requirements.

- Monitoring vehicle maintenance schedules, arranging regular inspections, and ensuring all vehicles comply with roadworthiness, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Liaising with clients and customers to determine transportation requirements, providing advice on suitable vehicle types, transport solutions, purchase or hire options, pricing, and contractual obligations, while promptly resolving customer enquiries and complaints.
- Receiving transport orders and bookings, preparing delivery schedules, allocating vehicles and drivers, and coordinating transportation activities to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
- Planning and implementing transportation routes to maximise operational efficiency, minimise fuel consumption, and ensure deliveries are completed within agreed timeframes.
- Ensuring goods are stored, handled, and transported under appropriate conditions to maintain quality, prevent damage, and comply with relevant safety and industry standards.
- Coordinating the collection, dispatch, and delivery of vehicles, equipment, and goods while maintaining accurate delivery records and tracking shipment progress.




- Managing fleet documentation, including vehicle registrations, insurance policies, maintenance records, fuel usage, driver records, operational logs, and compliance documentation.
- Preparing operational reports, fleet performance reports, cost analyses, budgeting information, and other business records to support management decision-making.
- Coordinating transport activities associated with the arrival, departure, loading, and unloading of freight, ensuring efficient movement of goods and effective communication with warehouse staff, drivers, and clients.
- Supervising drivers and transport staff, allocating work, monitoring performance, providing operational guidance, and ensuring adherence to company policies and service standards.
- Monitoring fuel consumption, vehicle utilisation, maintenance costs, and overall fleet performance, implementing strategies to improve efficiency and reduce operating expenses.
- Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety (WHS/OHS) legislation, transport regulations, environmental requirements, fatigue management rules, and company safety policies.
- Investigating transport incidents, vehicle breakdowns, and customer complaints, implementing corrective actions to improve safety, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Working closely with suppliers, mechanics, transport contractors, and internal departments to ensure the smooth operation of fleet and logistics activities.
