Responsibilities

- Operating machinery efficiently, safely, and competently to ensure maximum output
- Complying with Thiess policies and procedures
- Responding to instructions from the Mining Supervisor
- Excavating to the design boundaries of ore bodies, berms and pit walls
- Ensuring floor levels are maintained
- Minimising dilution and achieving design parameters within acceptable tolerances
- Setting and maintaining high housekeeping standards
- Carrying out pre‑start checks

Qualifications

- At least 5 years of mining experience as a mining production excavator operator
- Experience operating Hitachi EX and CAT machines essential




- Experience loading dump trucks in a mining production workplace essential
- Sound knowledge of ore mark‑ups and pit configuration
- Skills to mine out benches and cut batters, leaving minimal material for final trim to design of batter angle
- Proven compliance and commitment to health and safety at all times
