About us

Hopkins Correctional Centre is a medium security prison located in Western Victoria housing up to 798 people. The prison takes a multi-disciplinary approach that promotes active participation in activities structured to assist with rehabilitation and reintegration back to community at end of sentence.

What you will do

As justice officer – prison services casual, you will support a range of prison services and business support functions at Hopkins Correctional Centre.

You will help keep key services running safely, accurately and on time.

You will:





- provide administrative support across prison services
- perform financial tasks including prisoner monies, accounts, data entry and reporting
- assist with the prisoner shop, stock ordering, stock control and accurate record keeping
- support prisoner records, mail, meetings, property and prisoner movements under supervision
- provide courteous service by responding to enquiries, preparing routine correspondence and supporting daily prison services.

About you

You do not need any formal qualifications for this role. You should be ready to learn, work with people and complete training.

You should also have:

- well-developed computer skills
- strong administration skills, including data entry and minute taking
- good knowledge of office software and standard office equipment, with knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures highly regarded
- respectful communication skills, a reliable approach to teamwork and a commitment to high-quality customer service.
