Role Description The FSDV Case Worker is a full-time, in office role based in Australia, responsible for supporting individuals and families experiencing family and domestic violence. The role involves conducting initial assessments, developing safety and support plans, and coordinating referrals to appropriate health, legal, housing, and social services.

The Case

Worker maintains regular contact with clients, provides advocacy, and works closely with internal clinical staff and external agencies to ensure integrated, trauma-informed care. Daily tasks include documentation and case notes, participation in case reviews and team meetings, and contributing to community education and prevention activities. The position requires adherence to organizational policies,



confidentiality standards, and relevant legislation, while promoting culturally safe and inclusive practice.

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in case management, client advocacy, and support planning in the context of family and sexual domestic violence.

Knowledge of trauma-informed practice, risk assessment, and safety planning for individuals and families affected by violence.

Strong communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport across diverse communities.

Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, community organizations, and government agencies.

Experience working in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health or community settings, and commitment to culturally secure practice.

Proficiency in maintaining accurate case notes, managing confidential information, and using electronic record systems.

Relevant qualification in social work, psychology, community services, or a related field; eligibility for professional membership is an advantage.

Understanding of relevant Australian legislation, policies, and service frameworks related to family and sexual domestic violence.

Capacity to manage workload, prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment, and engage in reflective practice and supervision.
