The Elgin Inn Hotel is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and passionate trade qualified Chef to boost our team.
The Position:
You are energetic, organised, and self-motivated with strong leadership qualities. In this role it will be your responsibility to ensure quality and consistency are maintained across the board. This position offers a great chance for growth and career progression all packaged within an excellent company culture. This is a full time, 38 hour per week role.
We pride ourselves on quality food, beverage, and customer service and are looking for an outstanding Chef who has extensive experience in a variety of food operations.
Key duties:
Ensuring food preparation, cooking and presentation is of a high standard at all times.
- Prepare and cook foods of all types for either regular menu items, special requests, or allergen requests for the bistro and functions.
- Assist in menu development and planning.
- Assist cooks and other workers in the preparation cooking garnishing and presentation.
- Demonstrate, implement, and maintain effective cost control strategies.
- Develop and maintain appropriate relationships with relevant regulatory authorities.
- Ensure HACCP, OHS compliance, and maintain correct food safety procedures.
- Work independently and as part of a team to achieve specified objectives as determined by both venue and group stakeholders.
The Person: Reporting to the Head Chef and Venue Manager you will be able to work a rotating roster over 5 days including lunch and dinner.
- You must be passionate about food and able to lead by example, with drive, enthusiasm, and attention to detail.
- You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to motivate and develop staff, and be adept at maintaining a positive team environment.
- You must have the ability to work under pressure.
- You will have successfully completed Cert IV in Commercial Cookery.
