Lutheran Services is seeking an experienced and values-driven senior manager to lead its Domestic and Family Violence portfolio.
This newly created General Manager role presents a unique opportunity to shape the future of Domestic and Family Violence services within one of Queensland's most respected not-for-profit organisations. Reporting directly to the Executive Director – Community Services, you will provide strategic leadership across the portfolio, driving sustainable growth, service innovation and operational excellence while ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed services that create meaningful outcomes for individuals, families and communities.
The portfolio includes two refuges comprising 13 crisis accommodation units, extension properties, transitional accommodation and specialist case management services. You will be responsible for ensuring these services deliver high-quality, trauma-informed support while identifying opportunities for innovation, growth and service excellence.
You will lead a multidisciplinary team of approximately 20 employees, providing direct leadership to five leaders while supporting a broader workforce of Program Managers, Case Managers, Housing Officers and Administration staff. This is a highly collaborative leadership role focused on building capability, fostering a positive team culture and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, client-centred services.
This is more than an operational leadership role. You will play a key role in identifying new opportunities, strengthening government and sector partnerships, influencing service design and leading transformational change that supports Lutheran Services' long-term strategic vision.
About the Role
As General Manager – Domestic & Family Violence, you will provide oversight of a diverse portfolio,
balancing strategic leadership with operational excellence.
Your responsibilities will include
- Developing and delivering the strategic direction of the Domestic and Family Violence portfolio.
- Identifying and pursuing new funding opportunities, service expansion and sustainable growth initiatives.
- Building strong relationships with government departments, funding bodies, peak organisations and sector partners.
- Leading a portfolio focused on quality, safeguarding, governance, risk and regulatory compliance.
- Driving financial performance, operational sustainability and continuous improvement.
- Leading and developing a high-performing leadership team while fostering an inclusive, psychologically safe workplace culture.
- Representing Lutheran Services as a respected leader within the Domestic and Family Violence sector.
About You You are an accomplished senior manager who combines strategic thinking with authentic, values-based leadership.
You will bring
- Senior leadership experience within the Domestic and Family Violence sector is highly regarded; however, we also welcome applicants with leadership experience in Housing and Homelessness, Child Protection or Family Services.
- Experience developing and implementing strategic growth initiatives.
- Strong commercial and financial management capability.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with experience building trusted relationships across government, funding bodies and community partners.
- Proven experience leading organisational change, service improvement and workforce development.
- A collaborative leadership style that empowers others and builds high-performing teams.
- Excellent written, interpersonal and communication skills.
You will also hold:
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Sciences, Human Services or a related discipline.
- A current Blue Card and satisfactory National Police Check.
Postgraduate qualifications in Leadership, Business or Management will be highly regarded. Salary & Benefits
