We have an opportunity for an experienced Administration Officer to join our Finance team in Townsville on a full-time contract. Reporting to the Financial Accountant, this position is primarily responsible for providing general administrative support, processing accounts payable and receivable and payroll support.
- Carry out reception duties including receipt of telephone and visitor enquiries, referral of incoming correspondence, preparation of outgoing correspondence.
- Maintain and enhance customer relationships and ensure timely responses to customer queries.
- Maintain database systems to enable efficient and accurate records management.
- Process accounts payable ensuring supplier invoices are collated into weekly and monthly payment runs.
- Prepare and issue customer invoices on a timely basis.
- Debtor follow up
- Assist the finance team with the preparation of ad hoc reports, end-of-month reconciliations, and during audit periods.
- Provide general administrative support to Managers and Supervisors as required.
- Maintain and issue petty cash.
- Place stationery orders.
- Daily timesheet entries for payroll processing.
- Provide support to payroll team.

About the Candidate

- Previous administrative experience with a high level of accuracy on preparing and entering information.
- Working knowledge and understanding of accounts payable and receivable procedures.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills in Microsoft office applications including Word and Excel.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills to ensure tight deadlines are met.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with a robust focus on customer service.
- The ability to work autonomously, exercising initiative whilst still working effectively in a team environment.
- Current drivers' licence.
- Cert III in Business Administration or similar (desirable).
