About the role

Join the Office for Research (OfR) at The Royal Melbourne Hospital and play a key role in enabling high-quality clinical research that improves patient care. Working within a collaborative, multifunctional Research Office, you will support the delivery of human research ethics and governance services across one of Australia's leading public health services, partnering with researchers, clinicians and commercial sponsors across the Parkville Precinct.

As the Operations Lead, Governance Office, you will provide operational leadership to the Governance Office, supporting the Manager with day-to-day operations, continuous improvement initiatives and strategic projects. You will oversee the delivery of research governance approvals for commercial and non-commercial research, work closely with functional leaders across the Office for Research to achieve organisational objectives, and foster a responsive, customer-focused service that enables innovative research to thrive.

Key Accountabilities

- Provide key operational support the Manager, Governance Office in day-to-day decision-making and operational improvement;
- Assist the OfR leadership team to drive strategic projects of RMH as relevant research governance;
- Be responsible for delivering governance approvals for the commercial and non-commercial sector;




- Will work in close collaboration with OfR Functional Area Managers to deliver strategic and operational outcomes;
- Will lead to an exciting and successful career step in clinical research management in a collaborative and inclusive environment;
- Will promote reputational strength within a strong customer service culture at one of Australia’s leading public health service providers.

About You

You are an experienced clinical research professional with a strong understanding of research operations, governance and regulatory requirements, and bring:

- Experience supporting clinical research operations and working with researchers and commercial sponsors.
- Demonstrated knowledge of human research ethics and institutional research governance.
- Experience coordinating clinical research start-up activities within a complex healthcare or research environment.
- Sound understanding of the regulatory requirements that govern clinical research.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A collaborative approach with the ability to remove barriers, facilitate outcomes and support others to succeed.
- A desire to further develop your leadership and management capabilities.
