Strathfield

Business Development Manager – Referral Growth (Psychiatry)

Mind Oasis | Strathfield, Sydney | Full time | Permanent

Mind Oasis is a private psychiatry practice operating from Strathfield in Sydney and Brighton in Melbourne, with telehealth services nationally. Our clinicians provide general adult psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, cognitive and memory assessment, and treatment-resistant depression services.

We are creating a new role to lead the growth of our referrer network. This is a hands-on relationship and execution role, not a desk-based strategy position.

About the role

Reporting to the Clinic Director, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the referral relationships that bring new patients to the practice. You will work alongside our Marketing Officer and Operations Manager, and you will own the referrer side of the business end to end.

What you'll be doing

- Building and maintaining relationships with GP practices, practice managers and other referrers across Sydney, with periodic travel to Melbourne
- Running a structured outreach program — practice visits, calls, and follow-up — with proper records of who was contacted and what came of it
- Developing referral pathways for our specialist services and making sure referrers understand what we can and cannot take
- Planning and running GP education events and representing the practice at conferences
- Managing our presence on referral directories and healthcare listing platforms
- Tracking referral source attribution in our practice management system and reporting monthly on what is actually converting to booked appointments

- Supporting the launch of new services and new sites with a referrer engagement plan

What we're looking for

- Three or more years in business development, territory management or referrer liaison, ideally in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, private hospitals, diagnostic imaging, pathology or allied health
- A track record of opening doors with GP practices and keeping those relationships warm
- Comfort with data — you can work in a spreadsheet, follow a lead through to a booked appointment, and tell the difference between activity and results
- Clear, professional written communication
- A current driver's licence and your own vehicle
- Sound understanding of the advertising obligations that apply to registered health practitioners and health services under the National Law, or a genuine willingness to learn them properly

No clinical qualification is required. Experience in mental health is welcome but not essential.

Key

All promotional activity in this role must comply with AHPRA's advertising requirements. This means no testimonials, no comparative or superiority claims, no clinical outcome claims, and no inducements to attract patients. If your previous sales experience relied on those tools, this role will not suit you.

What we offer

- A performance component linked to overall practice growth
- A genuinely new role with the scope to build the function from the ground up
- A growing practice across two states with several services expanding this year

To apply Please submit your CV and a short cover letter outlining your experience developing referrer or client relationships in a healthcare setting, and what you achieved. Applications will be reviewed as they are received.
