The Opportunity
This is an entry-level graduate position suited to someone with a qualification or developing background in:

You do not need previous security industry experience. We are looking for someone with sound technical aptitude, robust communication skills and a genuine interest in learning how complex electronic systems are designed and delivered. Working alongside SEME’s engineering, estimating and project delivery teams, you will gain practical experience across the full project lifecycle, from early design and tender review through to procurement, installation, commissioning and project handover.
With training and support, you will assist with:
Design and Engineering

- Assisting with the design of access control, CCTV, intercom and integrated electronic security systems
- Preparing drawing mark-ups, equipment layouts and technical documentation
- Developing cable schedules, schematics, termination diagrams and equipment schedules
- Assisting with preliminary designs, detailed designs and construction documentation
- Preparing as-constructed drawings, data sheets, manuals and handover documentation
- Supporting design reviews and identifying practical or cost-effective engineering solutions
Project Coordination
- Assisting Project Managers with project planning, scheduling and delivery
- Tracking project actions, documentation and technical submissions
- Supporting procurement, equipment scheduling and delivery coordination
- Assisting with project registers, progress reporting and document control
- Attending internal project meetings, design reviews and site meetings
- Coordinating information between clients, consultants, suppliers and SEME delivery teams
- Supporting the preparation of project plans, methodologies and programmes
Technical and Site Support
- Assisting with site inspections, system testing and project handover activities
- Developing an understanding of network architecture, system integration and cybersecurity requirements
- Learning enterprise security platforms and integrated electronic systems
The role reflects SEME’s broader delivery model, which includes system design, engineering documentation, project governance, commissioning support and technical coordination across access control, CCTV and integrated security technologies.
About You
You may be completing your studies, recently graduated or in the early stages of your career.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- A degree, diploma or relevant qualification in electrical engineering, electronics, telecommunications, ICT, drafting, construction management or project management
- An interest in electronic systems, technical design and project delivery
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to documentation

- Sound computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- A willingness to ask questions, receive feedback and continue learning

- A current Australian driver’s licence, or the ability to obtain one
Experience with any of the following would be helpful, but is not essential:
- AutoCAD or other drafting software
- Bluebeam Revu or PDF drawing mark-ups
- Microsoft Project
- Aconex, Procore or similar project platforms
