Role Overview Full‑time; Fixed‑term until 31May2027 – Department: Student and Scholarly Services.
Salary: UOM7 – $111,275–$120,453 per annum plus 17% super.
Responsibilities - Lead and mentor a small team delivering high‑quality graduate research administrative support across the University.
- Coordinate development and delivery of training, documentation and updates on candidature management for staff and researchers.
- Oversee complex candidature processing and provide expert advice, including managing unsatisfactory progress cases with senior leaders.
- Act as subject‑matter expert for graduate research systems – lead testing and support implementation of changes.
- Contribute to Graduate Research strategy, priorities and culture, ensuring responsive, effective support for graduate researchers.
Qualifications - Degree‑level qualification combined with substantial experience in graduate research administration or graduate researcher support within a complex tertiary education workplace.
- Strong understanding of the unique academic and personal issues facing graduate researchers.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, engaging diverse stakeholders and managing expectations with professionalism.
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills to design creative solutions and negotiate outcomes in challenging cases.
- High‑quality service delivery through excellent organisation and project management, improving processes and meeting competing deadlines.
- Leadership skills – motivate and train a small team, fostering continuous improvement and a positive,
collaborative team culture.
- Proficient use of large integrated databases and Microsoft Office;
experience with TechnologyOne or similar systems is ideal.
