This is a senior leadership role combining strategic oversight with hands-on operational leadership across cloud, infrastructure, and platform services, leading a team of 20+.

You will lead platform operations across AWS, Kubernetes, and hybrid environments, ensuring platforms are secure, reliable, and operating at scale. The role will drive the adoption of contemporary practices, improve service performance across all existing and new customers in both on-prem and cloud environments, and support a broader transition to cloud operating models.

About the Role

You'll be responsible for the overall performance, reliability and continuous improvement of enterprise platform operations.

Working closely with Architecture, Engineering, Security and Product teams, you'll ensure critical platforms remain secure, resilient and highly available while supporting the organisation's cloud transformation.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of Platform Operations, Infrastructure and Site Reliability Engineering professionals.
- Own reliability, availability, and performance across environments
- Drive the transition from on-premises infrastructure to modern cloud platforms and operating models.
- Establish and embed mature Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, including SLOs, SLIs, incident management and error budgets.
- Lead platform operations across AWS,



Kubernetes and hybrid cloud environments.
- Improve platform availability, resilience, scalability and operational performance.
- Oversee incident, problem, change and service management processes.
- Drive automation, observability and continuous operational improvement.
- Lead vendor management, service delivery and FinOps initiatives to optimise cloud expenditure.
- Ensure compliance with security, governance and risk management frameworks.
- Partner with architecture, engineering and product teams.

About you

- Proven experience leading platform operations or SRE functions at scale
- Strong background in AWS, Kubernetes, and hybrid environments
- Experience driving reliability, resilience, and operational performance
- Leadership of engineering or infrastructure teams
- Experience with FinOps, vendor management, and service delivery
- Strong understanding of security, compliance, and risk
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive outcomes
- Tertiary qualification in IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience
