About The Role

This role serves as the internal technical anchor for a diverse SME business. You'll be responsible for hands-on IT support across the group, managing the relationship and technical outputs of external Managed Service Providers (MSPs), and supporting key IT projects.

You’ll act as the technical "sanity check" for the organisation, ensuring external partners deliver to business requirements while helping drive initiatives such as an Essential Eight security maturity uplift and consolidation of MSP services. As the primary on site presence, you’ll support both the Brisbane office and remote site managers, keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly and ensuring the business maintains control over its technical landscape. This role reports to the CEO.

Essentials

- Solid IT support background in a Microsoft environment (end-user support + workplace tech)
- Strong working knowledge of cloud-based systems and modern workplace tooling
- Experience coordinating with MSPs / vendors and translating business needs into technical deliverables
- Proven ability to balance BAU support with project milestones and competing priorities
- Strong stakeholder engagement, comfortable supporting executives and non-technical users
- High level of discretion, professionalism and confidentiality
- Exposure to Essential Eight and/or supporting security uplift / remediation work




- Experience supporting remote connectivity / infrastructure (e.g., Starlink, monitoring tools)

Role Responsibilities

- Act as the primary technical interface between the business and MSPs; manage deliverables and outcomes
- Supprt security and IT uplift projects aligned to Essential Eight remediation recommendations
- Provide hands‑on troubleshooting for Brisbane staff and remote operations
- Manage operational IT tasks: hardware lifecycle, user enrolment, recent starters, and support request triage
- Monitor critical infrastructure & services (including Starlink and remote monitoring systems)
- Ensure IT activities and projects align with broader business goals and operational needs
- Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism in a private, sensitive environment
- Proactively undertake cyber security training, maintain awareness of emerging threats, and promote security best practices
