About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist who is passionate about working with patients with co-occurring psychological concerns and physical health conditions within a subacute setting. You will provide psychological assessment and intervention to neurological, orthopaedic, amputee and GEM patients on the inpatient rehabilitation ward, Mellor Unit, at Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre. This role also includes brief psychological care to patients in their home during their admission. Within both services the Senior Clinical Psychologist will be working closely with the multidisciplinary team to support best practice care and outcomes for patients.

This is a permanent part time (0.3 EFT) position.

A regular day will see you:





- Providing psychological care to patients presenting with high prevalence psychiatric disorders such as depression, anxiety, health trauma, adjustmentconcernsand grief/loss.
- Adopting a flexible approach to caseload management and involvement in patient centred intervention.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide best patient care including secondary consultation around patient management.
- Liaising with external agencies and community supports to implementappropriate communityreferrals.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

- A Masters or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Psychology Board of Australia and endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist;
- Experience providing comprehensive psychological care within a health orhospital basedsetting.
- Knowledge and skills working with high prevalence psychiatric disorders such as depression, anxiety, trauma,adjustmentand grief.
- High level interpersonal skills that promote teamwork and engagement.
- For appointment at a Grade 3 level, candidates should have at least five years’ clinical experience and AHPRA approved supervisor status.
- Victorian Drivers Licence
