Volley Recruit is seeking a trade-qualified mechanic to join their client at Olympic Dam who is a leading Australian engineering group supporting major resources and industrial operations, and this role sits within a safety-focused site team maintaining the vehicles that keep the operation moving.
The preference is for a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic - ideally with a current automotive A/C licence - who is comfortable taking the lead across a workload made up mainly of light vehicles. We will also consider an experienced Light Vehicle Mechanic with genuine heavy-vehicle exposure and excellent electrical fault-finding skills.
What is on offer
- Approximately $60 per hour, subject to experience and final engagement details.
- $40 per day LAHA.
- Generally a 2 weeks on / 1 week off DIDO roster, with flexibility potentially considered for the right person.
- Shared accommodation provided at Olympic Dam/Roxby Downs.
- A varied role with predominantly LV work and the opportunity to use broader HV capability.
- An immediate chance with a nationally recognised engineering and maintenance contractor.
What you will be doing
- Servicing, inspecting, diagnosing and repairing the site vehicle fleet.
- Finding and resolving electrical and electronic faults - not simply swapping parts.
- Maintaining and repairing automotive air-conditioning systems where licensed.
- Supporting breakdowns and completing clear service, defect and handover records.
- Working safely within Monadelphous and client site systems.
What we need from you
- A recognised Australian HV or LV mechanical trade qualification.
- Strong electrical diagnostic ability and a practical, methodical approach to faults.
- A current automotive A/C licence (AAC02/ARCtick) is highly desirable.
- Heavy-vehicle experience is strongly preferred; confident LV mechanics with credible HV exposure are encouraged to apply.
- A current driver's licence, dependable DIDO availability and the ability to meet site medical and drug/alcohol requirements.
