About the role
Instro Services is seeking a skilled Instrumentation Technician to join our team in Sydney NSW 2000. This is a casual position offering flexibility and the opportunity to work on diverse instrumentation projects. As an Instrumentation Technician, you will play a vital role in the installation, maintenance, calibration and repair of instrumentation systems that are critical to our clients' operations.
This position is essential to ensuring that our clients' equipment operates safely, efficiently and within regulatory compliance standards.
Key responsibilities
- Installing, commissioning and testing instrumentation equipment and systems according to technical specifications and industry standards
- Performing routine maintenance, calibration and servicing of instrumentation devices to ensure optimal performance and accuracy
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting instrumentation faults and malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing effective repairs
- Carrying out preventative maintenance programmes to minimise downtime and extend equipment lifespan
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics and documentation to guide installation and maintenance work
- Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, calibrations and equipment performance
- Liaising with clients to understand their instrumentation requirements and providing technical support
- Adhering to health and safety regulations and best practices at all times
What we're looking for
- Formal qualification or apprenticeship in instrumentation, electronics, mechanical engineering or a related trade discipline
- Proven experience in installation, maintenance and repair of instrumentation systems and equipment
- Solid knowledge of calibration procedures and testing methodologies specific to instrumentation devices
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings, blueprints and instrumentation schematics
- Hands-on experience with common instrumentation tools and diagnostic equipment
- Sound understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to instrumentation work
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills and the ability to document work accurately
- Flexibility to work on-site at various client locations across Sydney
- A current driver's licence and reliable transport are advantageous
