Integration Engineer (GCP, GDC & Apigee)

Are you an experienced Integration Engineer with a passion for cloud technologies, APIs, and secure enterprise integration? We're partnering with a leading global technology consultancy delivering innovative solutions within complex and highly regulated environments. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing team responsible for building and supporting secure, scalable integration capabilities across Google Cloud Platform, Google Distributed Cloud, and Apigee API Management environments.

The Opportunity

As an Integration Engineer, you'll design, develop, and implement API-led integration solutions that connect applications, platforms, data services, and external systems across cloud, on-premises, and sovereign environments. You'll work alongside architects, security specialists, and platform engineers to deliver robust, enterprise-grade integration solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and deploy API-led integration solutions using Apigee.

- Build and maintain RESTful APIs, API proxies, products, and security policies.

- Deliver integrations across GCP, GDC, on-premises, and third-party platforms.

- Implement API security controls including OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, mTLS, and certificate management.

- Support integration solutions within highly secure and regulated environments.

- Collaborate with architects, security teams, and application delivery teams to establish integration standards.

- Automate deployment and management of integration assets through CI/CD and DevSecOps pipelines.

- Troubleshoot integration, connectivity, and performance issues.

- Produce technical documentation, solution designs, and operational runbooks.

About You You'll bring a blend of strong technical expertise, stakeholder engagement skills, and hands-on integration experience, including:





- 5 years delivering enterprise integration solutions.

- Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or Google Distributed Cloud (GDC).

- Proven expertise with Apigee X, Apigee Hybrid, or Apigee within regulated environments.

- Experience developing RESTful APIs, microservices, and API-first architectures.

- Strong understanding of API governance, lifecycle management, and security.

- Experience with Kubernetes, containerised applications, and cloud-native integration patterns.

- Knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and DevSecOps practices.

- Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Highly Regarded

- Experience with GDC Air-Gapped or sovereign cloud environments.

- Knowledge of GKE, Anthos, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, IAM, Secret Manager, and service mesh technologies.

- Previous experience working within Defence, Government, or other highly regulated sectors.

- Google Cloud, Kubernetes, or Apigee certifications.

- Understanding of Zero Trust and modern cloud security practices.
