Azooa is preparing a response for 2026-165-Joint-EWIS/L-RFQ – EWISL LCRC Systems Engineer and is seeking suitably qualified contractors for this Defence opportunity.

This role supports the Land Countermeasures Reprogramming Cell within Army Headquarters and requires a Level 3 Systems Engineer / Countermeasures Engineer with strong Defence systems engineering, RF / communications systems, Mission Fill design review, Engineering Management Systems and test and evaluation experience.

About the Role The EWIS Branch / EWIS L SPO / LCRC opportunity is for a Countermeasures Engineer / Systems Engineer supporting the Land Countermeasures Development and Verification capability within Army Headquarters.

The role will support

✅ Force Protection Electronic Countermeasures capability

✅ Mission Fill documentation and design review

✅ Systems engineering processes

✅ Engineering Management System maintenance

✅ Laboratory and over-the-air test and evaluation activities

✅ Technical Certification and release support

Key Responsibilities The successful contractor will support the LCRC Chief Engineer and work with ADF, APS and contracted personnel to:

? Conduct design review on FPECM Mission Fills

? Support operation and maintenance of the LCRC Engineering Management System

? Provide input into planning and conduct of Mission Fill testing

? Provide feedback on test result documentation

? Gain Technical Authority delegated by the Principal Engineer

? Maintain technical proficiency on FPECM systems

? Incorporate CMD&V; principles into technical documentation

? Apply Land-specific testing processes





? Engage with Mission Fill developers

? Perform Technical Data Assessments on FPECM system data

? Provide technical support to field trials

? Conduct document audits and update LCRC internal processes

? Support domestic field testing, primarily at Woomera Defence Area / Nurrungar SA

? Potentially support international field testing at foreign test facilities such as China Lake Test Facility, USA

Essential Experience

Candidates should be able to demonstrate:

✅ Current or ability to immediately gain Technical Proficiency Level 4

✅ Accredited Bachelor’s Degree recognised by Engineers Australia

✅ Minimum three years’ relevant post-qualification experience

✅ Technical qualifications and experience, preferably in Electrical, Electronics, Communications, RF or Systems Engineering

✅ Recent Systems Engineering experience in Defence projects within the One Defence

Capability System

✅ Relevant Defence Joint or Land Domain experience within the past five years

✅ Experience in design and integration of RF / communications systems with other systems

✅ Experience integrating RF / communications systems with land vehicles or portable systems

✅ Strong written and verbal communication skills

✅ Current NV1 security clearance

✅ Ability to attain NV2

✅ Ability to work onsite

✅ Ability to meet ITAR-related requirements where applicable

Highly Desirable Experience

⭐ Chartered Professional Engineer recognition with Engineers Australia, or ability to obtain it

⭐ Experience planning, scoping,



budgeting and forecasting engineering tasks and deliverables

⭐ Experience working in distributed Defence teams

⭐ Acquisition and introduction into service of RF / communications systems

⭐ DT&E; and AT&E; experience

⭐ FPECM systems experience

⭐ Counter-IED / CIED capability experience

⭐ Mission Fill development or verification experience

⭐ Electronic warfare, countermeasures or reprogramming environment experience

⭐ Field trial experience at Woomera or similar Defence test environments

Azooa recommends bidding at or below $140.81/hour including super where possible, based on current market conditions. This will help position the submission more competitively and support a stronger value-for-money outcome.
