Panetta McGrath Lawyers is a growing Western Australian law firm with specialist teams across Health, Insurance, Criminal Defence, Employment & Workplace Relations and Commercial Law. We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant or Legal Executive to join our health and insurance team on a full-time, permanent basis. We're after someone who thrives on the quick pace of a busy legal practice and takes real satisfaction in doing the job properly.
You'll work closely with experienced lawyers, becoming an indispensable part of how the team operates and how clients experience our service.
About the Role
Day to day, you'll be across:
- Preparing, amending and formatting correspondence, court documents and legal documents
- Court filing and arranging service of documents
- Opening new matters, maintaining accurate electronic and hard copy client files
- Diary and email management
- Liaising with clients, counsel, experts, insurers and other stakeholders
- Compiling and preparing briefs and document bundles for counsel and experts
- Monthly billing and file administration
- Scanning, filing and archiving documents
- Managing telephone enquiries and providing excellent client service
- General administrative support to lawyers and the wider team.
About You
- Previous experience as a legal assistant supporting senior lawyers
- Excellent organisational skills and sharp attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A professional, friendly and approachable manner
- The ability to juggle competing priorities and stay composed under pressure
- Initiative, reliability and a genuine work ethic
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn
- Solid computer and administrative skills
- A real commitment to exceptional service.
Experience in defendant insurance or personal injury matters is highly regarded, and prior District Court experience would be a great advantage.
