Shanahan Family Law is looking for a Legal Assistant to join our team in Maroochydore, supporting our senior family lawyers.

Family law is deeply personal work. Our clients are often coming to us during one of the hardest periods of their lives. They need a team that is calm, organised, clear in its communication, and steady under pressure.

That matters in this role.

You will help support the day-to-day running of matters and play an important part in keeping the client experience professional, clear, and well managed.

We're open to full-time or flexible working arrangements for the right person.

What you'll be doing

As a Legal Assistant, your work is likely to include:

- managing files and providing general administrative support
- drafting correspondence and legal documents
- coordinating diaries, appointments, and key dates
- liaising with clients in a professional and compassionate way
- assisting our senior solicitors with matter preparation and document organisation
- helping keep matters moving accurately and efficiently
- supporting a calm,



well-run client experience from first contact through to resolution

About you

We are looking for someone who is:

- highly organised and detail-focused
- calm, professional, and reliable
- able to communicate clearly and respectfully
- comfortable working in a busy legal environment
- capable of handling sensitive matters with discretion and care
- aligned with a reasonable, client-focused approach

Family law or legal support experience is well regarded, but we also welcome applications from people with strong transferable experience elsewhere in legal practice.

You do not need to be the loudest person in the room to be good at this role.

You do need to be steady, thoughtful, and able to keep things moving well when the work matters.
