Mesh and Bar Pty Ltd is seeking a reliable and motivated Machine Operator to join our Bar Bending team in Pakenham. This role operates specialist steel reinforcing equipment including manual and automated bending machines to manufacture reinforcing bar for commercial and civil construction projects across Victoria.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with heavy duty machinery and can maintain a strong focus on efficiency, safety and quality.
Previous reinforcing steel experience is an advantage, however we are prepared to train the right person with the right attitude.
What You'll Be Doing
- Operating reinforcing steel processing equipment.
- Setting up bending programs and tooling.
- Moving steel bars using overhead gantry cranes.
- Producing reinforcing bar to customer specifications.
- Reading production schedules and bending diagrams.
- Measuring and inspecting finished products.
- Maintaining quality and production standards.
- Performing daily machine checks and basic maintenance.
- Working safely within a team setting.

- Manufacturing
- Steel fabrication
- Reinforcing steel
- Machine operation
- Welding or fabrication
- Overhead gantry crane operation
- Forklift operation
- Heavy industry

- Reading technical drawings
