About the role

Martins Trailer Parts is seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team in Bayswater, WA. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work with precision machinery and contribute to the production of high-quality trailer parts. As a Machinist, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing operations, ensuring that all components are produced to the highest standards of accuracy and quality.

What you'll be doing

- Operating and maintaining precision machine tools including lathes, milling machines and grinding equipment
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and specifications to ensure accurate component production
- Setting up machine tools and adjusting parameters to meet exact tolerances and specifications
- Performing quality checks and measurements using precision instruments such as micrometres, callipers and gauges
- Producing machined components for trailer parts with consistent accuracy and attention to detail
- Maintaining a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Troubleshooting machine issues and performing routine maintenance and repairs
- Communicating effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure production schedules are met
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements

What we're looking for

- Completed apprenticeship or formal qualification in machining, mechanical engineering or related trade
- Proven experience operating CNC and conventional machine tools in a manufacturing environment
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately
- Competency in using precision measurement tools and maintaining strict tolerances




- Sound knowledge of materials, machining techniques and best practices within the industry
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work
- Physical fitness and capability to perform manual tasks and stand for extended periods
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- A valid driver's licence is desirable
- Experience with trailer parts manufacturing or automotive components is highly valued
