About the Role:
We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Fitter who thrives on fault finding, preventative maintenance, and keeping equipment running at peak performance. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving our automated processing and packaging machinery to minimise downtime and optimise productivity.
This role is ideal for a mechanically minded individual with strong fault finding, troubleshooting abilities and a proactive approach to routine maintenance and problem solving.
This is a full-time position on day shift (6.00am – 2.30pm), offering stability and consistent income within the secure food manufacturing sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on production and packaging equipment especially TNA and other VFFS machines.
- Conduct fault finding and troubleshooting of mechanical and basic electrical issues.
- Work closely with production teams to minimise unplanned downtime and ensure machinery runs efficiently.
- Assist with the installation, fabrication, and upgrades of equipment and systems.
- Basic knowledge in CMMS system
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety and quality standards.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Trade qualification in Fitting/Machining or similar.
- Dis-connect re-connect licence an advantage.
- Strong background in hands-on maintenance, preferably in food, FMCG, or other manufacturing environments.
- Proven experience with automated machinery and high-volume packaging lines.
- Excellent fault finding and problem-solving skills.
- TIG/MIG welding skills, and a forklift license are advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
- Valuable communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer literacy - CMMS experience
- Day shift, 6.00am – 2:30pm
- Min 5 years’ experience in food, Beverage or Pharmaceuticals Industries.
- Flexibility to work during the dayshifts and weekend works.
- Proven knowledge in GMP / HACCP
