About the role:

On behalf of a construction business, we're currently looking for an experienced and commercially minded Management Accountant to join their team on a full-time basis in their office on the Northside of Brisbane.

This role will suit an accounting professional who has a strong background in the construction industry. Our ideal candidate is someone who is a proactive team player who enjoys working closely with operational staff to improve financial performance and support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

As an integral part of the financial management of the business, you'll provide demonstrated experience in project costing, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, and cash flow management. You'll also be responsible for providing timely and accurate financial reporting, project analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and commercial support to senior management and project teams.

Other responsibilities include:

- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Analyse project profitability, margins and cash flow projections
- Work closely with your Project Managers to monitor project costs and provide commercial insights.
- Support tender pricing and commercial decision-making.
- Maintain robust financial controls and compliance with industry standards.
- Assist with year-end financial statements, audit requirements and taxation obligations.
- Oversee the accounts payable approval process.
- Ensure timely processing of supplier invoices and payment
- Assist and identify opportunities to improve financial processes, systems and reporting.

To be successful in this role, you will have:





- CA or CPA qualification (or nearing completion)
- A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Management Accountant
- Demonstrated experience within the construction industry
- A strong understanding of:
- Project costing
- Work-in-progress (WIP) reporting.
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Cash flow management

- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience using Xero, Dext, ApprovalMax and Procore
- Excellent analytical, organisation, communication and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional time management skills in a fast-paced environment
