Marketing & Events Manager

BiomeCentric — Microbiome-led ingredients, formulation & manufacturing

Reports to Managing Director

Summary

We've just signed off a three-year strategy that reprioritises who we sell to and how, and we need someone to run it day to day. Over the next twelve months BiomeCentric will exhibit at domestic and international trade expos across Asia and the US, launch a monthly technical webinar series, and build a content engine around our scientists. You would own the delivery of all of it, working alongside a freelance graphic designer and a dedicated digital media agency that handles paid search and social.

You will also be supported by a senior advisor who has led the strategy development. This is a hands-on role in a small team: you will write the words, book the booth, chase the meetings, brief the designer and hold the agency to account. If you want to do the thinking and the doing, this is that job.

About BiomeCentric

We're an Australian microbiome science company with multiple locations — specialising in pre-, pro- and postbiotic ingredients, formulation development and contract manufacturing across skincare, personal-care, ingestibes, and pet products. We are a TGA-approved manufacturer and a finalist for Emerging Exporter in the 2026 Premier of Queensland's Export Awards, and our vision is that by 2030, 100 million lives are improved by microbiome science. Our focus is on the NPD and R&D; teams inside established and scaling brands, and on manufacturers who want to license our microbiome ingredients — in Australia, across Asia and in the US.

What you'll do

Events and industry presence — The coolest part of the job

- Own our events calendar end to end, from selection and budget through to delivery on the ground: international trade expos, domestic industry events and our own hosted formats.
- Partner with the sales team to maximise every event, planning and delivering the end-to-end marketing campaigns, content and communications that support pre-event meetings, on-stand engagement and post-event lead nurturing.
- Report honestly on what each event cost and return on investment.

Content and copywriting – Be the executive producer!

- Manage and curate our social media content and profiles.

- Write compelling content that communicates our science with credibility for technical audiences while translating complex concepts into clear, engaging stories for broader audiences across digital, event and long-form channels.
- Turn our experts' appearances into a steady stream of content — we treat expertise as the primary demand-generation asset, not a side activity.

Managing our specialists – You’re the ringmaster

- Brief and manage our freelance graphic designer, our media agency, and the print and event suppliers the calendar demands.

Keeping the plan on track

- Own the marketing budget tracker and event cost schedule, manage our industry memberships and speaking opportunities, and support wider demand-generation activity as the plan requires.

What we're looking for

Essential

- Startup or small-business experience. You've worked somewhere without a big team or a big budget, and you know how to use data to your advantage to make decisions and recommendations.
- A real events track record. You've planned and run trade shows, conferences or B2B events.
- Strong copywriting skills. You can understand technical subject matter and turn it into clear, engaging content, adapting your writing for both technical and broader professional audiences.
- You get good work out of specialists. Designers, agencies, printers, PR, contractors — you can brief well, set a deadline that holds, and give useful feedback without needing to be the expert yourself.
- Highly organised, with real attention to detail. Multiple concurrent projects, hard external deadlines, and no second chance on a shipping date or a printed spec sheet. The small things matter here.
- You use AI tools well. We actively encourage it and we'll give you full access to the best tools available. We want someone who already works this way and can show us how.

Nice to have — B2B experience is the one we weight most heavily

- B2B marketing experience, particularly selling to technical, specifier or procurement audiences rather than consumers.
- Experience in beauty, personal care, supplements, functional foods or ingredients.
- Exposure to export markets, particularly China or South-East Asia.
- Comfort with regulatory-adjacent marketing (claims, substantiation, compliance review).

You don't need a science background but you should be naturally curious to learn, ask positive questions and develop enough understanding to communicate our science with confidence and accuracy.

What we offer

- Access to the best AI tools, and encouragement to use them. We'd rather you spent your time on judgement and craft than on the parts a machine can do.
- A strategy that's already signed off and funded, with clear priorities — you're executing a plan, not inventing one from nothing every quarter.
- Genuine ownership of the events programme and the content engine.
- Direct access to the Managing Director and our scientific team.
- Build what's next: Join early enough to help shape the future of our marketing function, with the opportunity to grow into a senior leadership role as the company expands.
- International travel to major industry expos.
- Regular team social events.

How to apply

Send us

1. Your CV
2. A short cover note — no more than one page — telling us about one event you ran, including what you managed, what it was meant to achieve, and whether it did. Any numbers attached would be welcomed.
3. 2–5 writing samples of marketing content you've written. We'd love to see a mix of formats where possible, such as social posts, website copy, blogs, email campaigns or nurture sequences, event communications, case studies or other content that demonstrates your ability to adapt your writing for different audiences.
4. Tell us how you use AI in your workflow. We'd like to know one way it makes you more effective and one area where you rely on your own judgement instead.

BiomeCentric is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. You must have the right to work in Australia.
