The Role
Willandra PS is seeking an educator who brings heart, skill, and purpose to their teaching. In Year 5, students are stepping into a crucial stage of senior primary, building independence, confidence, and readiness for upper‑primary challenges. Your teaching would play a central role in shaping that journey.
We’re ideally looking for someone who believes in the power of explicit teaching, strong routines, and meaningful relationships. You should create a classroom where students feel safe to take risks, supported to grow, and inspired to achieve.
As one of a team of Year 5 teacher's, you will ideally:
- Use clear, structured instruction (including Word Origins)
to ensure every learner knows what they’re learning and how to succeed
- Build a calm, predictable learning environment grounded in consistent expectations and positive behaviour support
- Work within a collaborative team that values shared planning, open communication, and collective responsibility
- Engage with families and the wider school community to strengthen student wellbeing and connectedness
- Bring enthusiasm, initiative, and a reflective mindset to ongoing improvement and professional growth
We celebrate teamwork, support new ideas, and work together to deliver high‑quality learning across senior primary.
If you’re ready to make a meaningful impact in Semester 2 and help our Year 5 students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, please apply to be a part of our educator team.
