About The Role
City Health Day Hospital is seeking experienced and motivated Perioperative Registered Nurses to join our theatre team on a casual basis. Based at our modern Jolimont facility, you will work alongside experienced surgeons, anaesthetists and nursing staff in a collaborative and patient-focused environment.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a growing day hospital that currently specialises in gynaecological and IVF surgery, with plans to expand into additional surgical specialties. We are looking for nurses who are committed to clinical excellence and enjoy working in a supportive, fast-paced perioperative setting.
What You’ll Do
- Provide safe, high-quality patient care throughout the perioperative journey.
- Work within your scope of practice as a Scrub/Scout and/or Anaesthetic/Recovery Nurse.
- Prepare and maintain theatre and recovery environments in accordance with best practice.
- Assist surgeons and anaesthetists during procedures while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Deliver safe post-anaesthetic recovery care and discharge education.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and support accreditation standards.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative and patient-centred team culture.
What We Are Looking For
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrated perioperative nursing experience in Scrub/Scout and/or Anaesthetic/Recovery.
- Previous experience in a private hospital or day surgery environment is highly desirable.
- A Postgraduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (or equivalent) is desirable.
- IV cannulation competency is desirable.
- Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification, or willingness to obtain.
- Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.
- A robust commitment to patient safety, quality care and teamwork.
- Flexibility, reliability and a positive attitude.
Please note that this is an on-site role, successful candidates will need to be able to work across various locations in Victoria, including Jolimont and Notting Hill.
